I wonder if Ms. Spacek reads this? Anyway, I have recently become a Sissy Spacek fan since relocating to Quitman, TX and finding out this is her hometown. Our library has a special video section set aside in her honor, some old town folk have stories to share (Oh, my! Did you really do that?!), and there is even a street named after her! What a quaint little town (think Mayberry). Ms. Spacek, if you do happen to read this, please contact the new director of the library here: (903) 763-4191 I'd love to have an autographed photo to share for the display.

THIS IS SERIOUS!!!!!!!!!!! READ THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HEY PEOPLE JUST READ AND TRY THIS IT REALLY WORKS!!!!! THIS REALLY WORKS, SEE HOW THIS TEACHER AND A FRIEND OF MINE MADE XTRA BUCKS IN WEEKS!!!SIMPLE AND IT'S LEGAL!!!!!!! I found this on a bulletin board and decided to try it a little while back, I was browsing through news groups just as you are right now and came across a article similar to this saying that you could make thousands of dollars within weeks with only an initial investment of $6.00!! So, I thought yeah right. This must be a scam, but like most of us, I was curious, so I kept reading. Anyway, it said that you send one dollar to each of the six names and addresses stated in the article. You then delete the first address and change the numbers. ( 2 becomes 1, 3 becomes 2, etc.) place your own name and address on the bottom of the list at number 6 and post the article to at least 200 news groups. (there are thousands) No catch that was it. Therefore, after talking to a few people and thinking it over I decided to try it. What do I have to lose except 6 stamps and $6.00 right? Then I invested the measly six dollars. WELL GUESS WHAT!!! Within 7 days, I started getting money in the mail!!! I was shocked. I thought it was going to stop but it just kept coming. In my first week, I made $25.00. By the end of the second week, I had $900.00. In the end of the third week, I made $5,000.00!!! It's still growing right now. This is now my fourth week and I have made a total of just over $38,000.00! Moreover, it's still coming in rapidly. This is certainly worth $6.00 and 6 stamps. I have spent more than that on the lottery!! Let me tell you how this works and most importantly why it works...Also make sure that you print a copy of this article NOW so you can get the information off of it as you need it. I promise you that if you follow the directions exactly, that you will start making more money than you possibly thought just by doing something so easy!! SUGGESTION: READ THIS ENTIRE MESSAGE CAREFULLY (Print it out or down load it) Follow the simple directions and watch the money come in! It's easy. It's legal. And your investment is only $6.00(plus postage) IMPORTANT: This is not a rip off; it is not indecent; it isn't illegal; and it is virtually no risk - it really works!!!!! If all of the following instructions are adhered to, you will receive extraordinary dividends. PLEASE NOTE: please follow these directions exactly and $1,000's or more can be yours in 20 to 60 days. This program remains successful because of the honesty and integrity of the participants. Please continue its success by carefully adhering to the instructions. You will now become a part of the mail order business. In this business, your product is not solid and tangible, it's a service. You are in the business of developing a mailing list. Many large corporations are happy to pay big bucks for quality list. However, the money made from the mailing list is secondary to the income, which is made from people like you and me asking to be included to that list. Here are the four steps to success: STEP 1: Get 6 separate pieces of paper write the following on each piece of paper "PLEASE PUT ME ON YOUR MAILING LIST." Now get 6 us 1dollar bills and place ONE inside EACH of the six pieces of paper so the bill will not be seen through the envelope to prevent thievery. Next, place one paper in each of the 6 envelopes and seal them. MAKE SURE THERE ARE ENOUGH STAMPS ON YOUR ENVELOPES. You should now have 6 sealed envelopes, each with a piece of paper stating the above phrase your name and address and a $1.00 bill. What you are doing is creating a service. THIS IS ABSOLUTELY LEGAL! You are requesting a legitimate service and you are paying for it! Like most of us, I was a little skeptical and a little worried about the legal aspects of it all. So, I checked it out with the U.S. Post Office (1-800-725-2161) and they confirmed that it is indeed legal!!!!! Mail the six envelopes to the following addresses: #1) TRB 14135 Armant Place Dr. Cypress, TX 77429 #2) Chuks Orji, Samuel Opara 8304 S. Course, #506 Houston, TX 77072 #3) Malcolm Williamson 502 E Michigan Apt#10 Urbana, IL 61801 #4) Jaloni Stevens 7465 S. South Shore Dr. Apt#310 Chicago, IL 60649 #5) Latara Ingram 875 south 17th street Apt.2 Newark, NJ 07108 #6) Syd Maduri 4037 W Lupine Ave. Phoenix, AZ 85029 STEP 2: Now take the #1 name off the list that you see above, move the other names up (6 becomes 5, 5 becomes 4, etc...) and add YOUR name as number 6 on the list. STEP 3: Change anything you need to but try to keep this article as original as possible. Now post your amended article to at least 200 news groups. ( I think there are 24,000 groups) All you need is 200, but remember, the more you post , the more money you make! ** EVERYBODY AROUND THE WORLD CAN DO THIS BUT REMEMBER TO PUT ENOUGH STAMPS ON YOUR ENVELOPES!!!!** This is perfectly legal! If you have any doubts, refer to title 18 sec. 1302 & 1341 of the postal lottery laws. Keep a copy of these steps for your self and whenever you need money, you can use it again and again. PLEASE REMEMBER that this program remains successful because of the honesty and integrity of the participants and by carefully adhering to the directions. Look at it this way, if you are of integrity, the program will continue and the money that so many others have received will come your way. NOTE: You may want to retain every name and address sent to you, on either a computer or a hard copy and keep the notes people sent you. This verifies that you are truly providing a service. (Remember to wrap the $1 bill in the note to prevent mail theft.) So, as each post is downloaded and the directions carefully followed, six members will be reimbursed for their participation as a list developer with one dollar each. Your name will move up the list geometrically so that when your name reaches the #1 spot you will be receiving thousands of dollars in CASH!!!!! What an opportunity for only $6.00 ($1 for each of the six people listed above) Send it now, add your own name to the list and you're in business! DIRECTIONS: HOW TO POST TO NEWS GROUPS STEP 1: You do not need to retype this entire letter to do your own posting. Simply put your cursor at the beginning of this letter and drag your cursor to the bottom of this document, and select "copy" from the edit menu. This will copy the entire letter into the computer's memory. STEP 2: Open a blank notepad file and place your cursor at the top of the blank page. From the edit menu, select "paste." This will paste the copy of the letter into notepad so you can add your name to the list. STEP 3: Save your new notepad file as a .txt file. If you want to do your postings in different settings, you'll always have this file to come back to. STEP 4: Use Netscape and Internet Explorer and try searching for various news groups (on-line forums, message boards, chat sites, discussions.) STEP 5: Visit these message boards and post this article as a new message by highlighting the text of this letter and selecting "paste" from the edit menu. Fill in the subject, this will be the header that everyone sees as they scroll through the list of postings in a particular group, click the post message button. You're done with the first one! CONGRATULATIONS,...THAT'S IT! All you have to do is jump to different news groups and post away, after you get the hang of it, it will take 30 seconds for each news group! **REMEMBER, THE MORE NEWS GROUPS YOU POST IN (MESSAGE BOARDS ETC.) THE MORE MONEY YOU WILL MAKE!! BUT YOU HAVE TO POST A MINIMUM OF 200. That's it! You will begin receiving money from around the world within days! You may eventually want to rent a P.O. Box due to the large amount of mail you will receive. If you wish to stay anonymous, you can invent a name to use as long as the postman will deliver it. **JUST MAKE SURE THE ADDRESS IS CORRECT** Let me break it down, say I receive only 5 replies, so then I made $5 with my name at #6 on the letter. Now each of the 5 persons who just sent me $1 made the MINIMUM 200 postings, each with my name at #5 and only 5 people respond to the original 5 people. That is another $25 for me. Now those 25 people make the MINIMUM 200 post with my name at number 4 and only 5 replies each, I will make $125. Now, those 125 people post the MINIMUM 200 postings with my name at #3 and only get 5 replies each, I will make an additional $626! OK, now here's the fun part each of those 625 people post a MINIMUM 200 with my name at #2 and they only get 5 replies that just made me $3,125!!! Those 3125 people send a MINIMUM 200 postings and they only get 5 replies each with my name at #1, I will receive $15,625!!! With an original investment of $6!!!! AMAZING!!!! . When your name is no longer on the list, you just take the latest postings in the news groups and send out another $6 to names on the list putting yourself at #6 and start posting again. Thousands of people are joining the internet each day and they are reading articles like these just as you are right now. So this can never be played out just keep it going and you can make tons of money too!!!! Please try it now and make big bucks in a few short weeks!!!!!! What do you have to lose?

Sissy my name is tom from Ontario Canada, you are my favourite actress. I have been a big fan since 1988. In the Bedroom was a great film. your performance was powerful and the cast gave 100 percent as well. Todd Field is a very strong director in terms of detail and atmosphere. This movie will be remembered as a classic and it is a film you should be very proud of. Congratulations for the year you had winning all those awards and receiving all that acclaim. I look forward to Tuck Everlasting, it looks exciting. Any type of roles you look forward to wanting to play in the future. One of my favourite movies that you did was Raggedy Man. It is a wonderful film, It was the first film directed by your husband. You are good role model for young woman and it is a pleasure to watch you perform not only are you very talented but you are beautiful as well. You have integrity and have always maintained your values and took a stand on what you beleive in. I look forward to buying In the Bedroom in august.Like I said before it is a special movie that people can learn from. Dear Sissy,
Just a note to test the waters so to speak. I am a 45 year old woman who has a story to tell. Since I was a small child I knew that I was meant to write. I wrote stories, drew pictures to go with them etcf. When I grew up I still had the yearning in me to write, but I kept putting it of, knowing that one day I would know when to write the book I was meant. I knew that the story would come to me, and so even though I wanted to start it, I continually put it of. Then approx. six yeard ago, the story began to come to me. The sad fact is that it would be my story, and I would have to live through it to know what it was about. I am sorry if I seem dramatic, but for the most part I still have trouble accepting it and dealing with it. I know that I am being vague, but it is hard to write this in a fan email. What I am searching for is someone to help me tell this story. It involves death, love for a child, a love for a man as well as a love for a husband, the cruelty of a small town, ,the loss of everything that I was and the courage to remain stsndingdespite the hell that surrounded me. I have never been one to give credit to myself, but I know that it was only because of my determination and God's help that I am surviving this path in my life. Sissy you have always seem level headed. I have admired your honest take on life, and I feel that maybe you would be able to take this story and turn it into what it was meant to be... a lesson in life. I know that it would make a worthwhile movie, and I will not stop until I succeed in having this story told. For as much as I have a certain insight into life, I know that it is meant to be. Please be assured that I am a sane woman. I work year round. I have a beautiful daughter, a home etc. What I want is your help as to how I could get this story publishedd and eventually turned into a movie. This may sound strange, but this is an opportunity for you as well as for me. can you help? Can you point me in the right direction. As I have said one way or another I have not loived through this hell for nothing. God had a reason for it, because one of the only things that kept me sane was the fact that I would survive it and one day write about it so that the world would have a better insight into life and why things happen, and that things are not always as they seem.. ....Please help.....

DEAR, SISSY, My name is Jim Glazier, from 4308 42 AVE. #20 Rock MTN.. House Alberta, Canada . And I need the help of someone with great influence over people and the resources to convince people they can protect there property. I am not trying to get a hand out, but perhaps some kind of business venture where we both can make money. I have been interested in vehicle security since 1997. I get sick when I hear of peoples property stolen , damaged , and even lives lost from such a preventable problem as car theft. I have looked at many vehicle security devices and there weakness, and endeavored to build a device that is easy to install and also user friendly, and very difficult to remove. I have built prototypes, and have used one on my vehicle for three years even in big cities, and always felt comfortable that my car would always be there where I parked it. I also installed one on an old truck in an auto wreaker and it took three big men 4min. 56 seconds to remove it, only by braking the floorboard because of too ridged a base. This has since been redesigned to be flexible. It was encouraging to see one person could not remove it. It is loose enough installed, that it cannot be cut with a hacksaw, since it is made with good strong steel. The lock cannot be frozen because it is incased with steel and a small air space. These men ! tried with hammers and feet to remove it and only exhausted themselves. Since joy rides and theft of vehicles for the purpose of committing a crime are the main reasons for general auto theft, I know this will be a very good and secure type of vehicle theft deterrent. I have a U.S. patent and applied for an international patent with the help of a company in Ireland, who have done up for me a confidential research report, on North America, and Europe and are at this time trying to find manufactures all around the world that would be interested in building this device that I call "Brake Lock. There is some simple electronics that serve as a trade mark, as well as takes care of the brake light problem. I recently have had interest from England and Illinois and hope to get a positive response from them. Auto theft is a huge problem everywhere. I know it will make a difference. But it will only make a difference if people will use it. If I could give you more information that might convince you, perhaps you may be interested in being a part of this venture. .P lease, if you want more information or have questions please get in touch with me at my E-Mail address ( cadillacjim @msn.com) Thank you, I look forward to hearing from you . I have owned your Austin-Healey from high school for a number of years and it is in great shape. I always thought that if I ever sold it, it would be nice to give you first chance in case you wanted to reclaim a piece of your history for your children (or grandchildren). I understand that you live in the Charlottsville area and I am nearby in NC. If you have any interest in making contact I am J. Melvin, Box 7085, Greenville, NC 27835

Hi Sissy, My name is Carla Hard. My mom is Glinda Hanson (Taylor) from Quitman. (she grew up with you and your brothers). I found this web site and thought I would write you a line. My mom told me about your dad passing away. Im sorry to hear the bad news. Mom and dad are going to the funeral but I cant because I have to work. Your dad gave her (my mom) some pictures of you about 20 years ago when she went by to see him. (he and my grandma (Aline Taylor) live real close to each other) Its also has yours and his (your dad) signature on the picture. Just thought I would share that train of thought with you. Well gotta run. Take Care.
My e-mail is cahs33@juno.com if you would like to respond.

Hi, my name is Dudi and i'm from Sweden. I just saw your movie, Carrie. It was a great movie, actually it's one of the best movies i've ever seen. It's true, really. You were great and you were so beautiful. You're also a great actress, you're better than "modern" actors/actresses. Hope we all get to see you in a new movie.

Dear Ms. Spacek,
I was wondering if we could talk politics.
I am a big fan of your work. In fact, you are my favorite actress. ("Coal Miner's Daughter" and "The Straight Story" are two of my five favorite movies of all time.) Having played so many different characters, from a young liberal in "Missing" to a conservative Southern housewife in "The Long Walk Home", you surely understand that there are many different types of Americans out there, none of whoms' motives and views are necessarily more valid than any other--after all, that's why we're all only allowed one vote each.
As an environmental studies major, I believe that we need to elect a president who will at all opportunities take the course of action that will protect AND benefit our environment. But, we also need someone who will balance his priorities and take care to meet the demands of the rest of America, in issues like taxes, education, social security, the military, etc. Even with his special interest in environmental protection, Al Gore is willing and able to give all those issues the proper attention. After all, we environmentalists aren't the only Americans. This, to me, makes Al Gore the near-perfect candidate.
What baffles me, therefore, is all of my classmates' passion for Ralph Nader. He may have remarkably significant plans for the environment and against big corporations, and he may be exhibiting himself as a "man of the people", but I don't think he realizes that a good number of "the people"--and not just the rich--are of the conservative mindset, and his extemism realistically would not be progressive among them, or their senators and representatives. (Furthermore, I don't think anyone is doubting that all support for this man will just help to elect George W. Bush.)
Because you are an environmentalist-celebrity, I am quite curious to know where you stand, who you support, and if you could tell me something I probably haven't heard from my classmates. My email address is CaseOfMe@aol.com. My name is Joe, and I'm a student at the University of Michigan.
I look very forward to seeing you in your next film!
Joe

Dear Ms. Spacek, This is not a typical letter filled with praise and acclamation for your numerous films and roles, albeit I do very much admire your talent in the acting field. What this letter intends to be is an attempt, so to speak, to find out who Sissy Spacek is as a regular person. You see, growing up in America, I've been so indoctrinated with the idea that people in your profession are different from typical, everyday people. Seeing your face on the silver screen and on the t.v. and in books and in magazinces gives me the impression that actors and actresses are less human and more godlike, if you don't mind me saying so. I've probably seen the majority of your films and have read some of your on-line bios, and it is so easy for me to just believe that you're this shining, glorious female deity. But, you see, you know and I know that this is not true. You may even be laughing at such silly talk as this. What I propose to do, if it is at all feasible with you and your very busy schedule, is to dispense with that false idea that people in the entertainment business belong to a higher order of human beings, and carry on a conversation with you in which you could tell me about yourself, your part, your career, your family, your hobbies, your interests, etc. For instance, I love to know what it's like to grow up in Texas, having never had the opportunity to visit there myself. I'd also be interested in knowing how you first got started in acting and why it had such an appeal for you. This all probably sounds like a crazy idea to you, but I thought I might at least take a risk and see if I could ever get to converse with someone in your line of work. I myself am nobody special. I am currently living in the Chicagoland region, some thirty miles west of the city, and am working as a temp at an IBM office in the area. I'm also a bit of a movie connosieur and really enjoy a good film. Movie trivia is also a big interest of mine and I love finding out info on how movies were made and what awards they may have received. Well, I think that's about all I'll write for now. I'm probably making a giant fool of myself by writing to you in this way, but true is never enjoyed by those who lay back in their couches, but rather by those who get off their seat and take initiative. You yourself know all about that when you decided to try out for the role of Carrie rather than settle for the role that Nancy Allen eventually got. My e-mail address is GONZALM@US.ibm.com. I look forward to chatting with you. If not, well, then I hope you have success throughout the rest of your career. Take care. Sincerely,
Martin Gonzalez

Dear Miss. Spacek I would just like to say that you are one of my favorite actresses. I throughly enjoyed many of your films, especially "Carrie", "Coal miner's daughter", "JFK", and most recently "The Straight Story"!! I'm sorry that you did not get an Oscar nomination for best supporting actress!! After all you sure did deserve one. I also miss seeing you on the big screen. An actress of your stature should be making at least one film a year, however, I just think that extremly talented and beatiful. I hope that you will continue entertaining us by your gift of acting. By the way Meryl Streep, Susan Sarandon, and Jessica Lange aren't the only actresses over the age of forty that can demand a well written script. You are in the same league with them.

Good Evening Sissy... I want to say thank you for being the Honorary Host today at the James Madison Landmark Forest Ceremony. Living in Madison Virginia as I do and you living not far from away yourself. I am sure you can understand where I am coming from when I say we sometimes take advantage of our own history that is right here in front of us. I have always loved our state and thought it is the pretties we have here in the US. I want to say thank you for being the lady that you are in being a role model for all young ladies. I am so glad you see that you are down to earth and just as southern as the rest of us. I dont know if you remeber speaking to me or not, but I was the person who walked up to you and said thank you for standing up for nature and what is to be the future of our own children. As well passing you on the nature trail. I know you only pre-trailed Loretta Lynn in the movie but your wouldnt believe the things in my life that are so much close to you as well as her in real time. It was a pleasure meeting you and if you would like to keep in touch please.. feel free... you can email me at eleganice@hotmail.com
Thank you again L.Bean

I've been a fan of yours since Badlands and the films that you made with Altman. I think you were great in Three Women and Cole Miner's Daughter and I've enjoyed your recent movies. What I really want to know is why the Coal Miner's Daughter soundtrack isn't on cd and also your solo album that you did with Rodney Crowell producing. That was a great record! I have it on tape and album as well as the single.

Dear mrs. Spacek,
I would like you to know that I was thrilled by your performance in Night Mother which I watched some twenty times. Its just a pitty that you never co-starred with Anne Bancroft afterwards.
I know I will have to see more of your work. When I'll have the chance, I'll get back to you.

I was very impressed by your performance in "Carrie," which came out a few months before I was born. I doubt that anyone could have topped it had another actress played it. I also thought your Oscar for "Coal Miner's Daughter was well-deserved. You deserved the Oscar for "Carrie" as well. Thanks to you this film is a true classic.

I have no e-mail at this time but would like to say that I think Sissy Spasek is one of greatest actresses of our time! wish she could go back to fulltime acting once again. Alot of actresses now a days are just all glamour but no talent and skill. Actress Sissy Spacek is both glamorous and skillfull. Many in our town of Adrian MI. agree. Eric
